Drew Blair was born and raised in Elizabethtown, KY in July of 1988. He followed his passion for bold color and modern design throughout his childhood and into his now adult life. Drew graduated from Morehead State University School of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design in 2010 (same county that Kim Davis denied marriage licenses to Drew’s former same-sex coupled college classmates).
The soul purpose of this series is to encourage an open discussion revolving around the topic of sex. Drew grew up in a part of the country that forgot to educate their youth on safe sexual practices and in turn opted to encourage abstinence. This series is designed to promote discussions leading the progression of sexual education for our modern world.
Inspired by the works of Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Ettore Sottsass, & Tom of Finland, Drew began his sexual exploration at a young age with the aid of a non-parentally blocked ebay search platform. Drew was left to the devices of online art resell to discover the subcultures of the gay community that he would one day come to emulate. After nine years of independent cultural studies, Drew Blair has created an original series to share with all of those that have influenced his creative journey thus far.
